I have used Command + shift + H to get them to the "The Sims 4 Packs" folder, and placed them there. I am having the same issue. I very happily used the pack method since I own the legit base game for sims 4 for quite a while. I have the version that allows you to actually use the gallery to share you creations. Then the gods at ea, decided that we should change origin to this ea app thing, and now that it is done, my ep's and such that I enjoyed playing with no longer work.
