You can also heat up the fuel line with a heat gun/hair drier to soften it too. Be careful though using a heat gun around gas fumes can lead to a Kaboom. .

That leaves 2.83 gallons available before you have to hit the reserve. I assume that the 3.7 gallons is when the tank is filled to the top.

The Shadow Spirit 750 has a very low seat height, something on the order of 26", so it is very easy for the new rider to feel comfortable and confident.
