Faith has been nerfed into the ground. Lightning spear has had its damage and casts cut into a fraction since release (3 casts down from 10 and around a 30% damage nerf) and most faith scaling weapons have seen significant nerfs as well. Str, Dex, or quality builds are much more powerful in this game.
The best rings tend to be flynns ring, third dragon ring, old leo ring, Ring of blades, ring of steel protection, bracing knuckle ring, and chloranthy ring, in roughly that order of importance! Everything else is far more situational! Flynn is better if the weapon is infused.The greatsword +10 (duh) and a drangleic shield, for armor I'm using the aurous set until I get my vit high enough to use eitehr havel or drangleic. Stats is focused on getting that 50 STR, enough END to swing at least 4 times (currently at 20) and VIT to carry your equipment and avoid fat rolls.
