The hacker problem is really only existent on Xbox 360. Although this game does have a very low population, when you do find a game, it's still very fun. From my experience though, it's really only possible to find matches in TDM. All servers are still up, but like most other COD games on PC, there's a very low population.

Servers will be shutdown eventually, either by Activision or Sony/Microsoft pulling the plug on Xbox Live/PSN for those systems. It looks like Activision only shutters games that are old and really have no one playing them anymore (like < 40 people) based on how they left several servers for Wii games up that had around 100 people playing.
