When the bug had every outlaw farmer spawn with a crossbow they were downed pretty much without a fight by melee samurai/slavers. Just a group of crossbowguys seems to be too slow and inaccurate to fend off enemies without melee guys to help them. (armor probably also helps :p) however i found 0 info on how to change quality values (or manufacturer, for the matter) of a crossbow assigned to a character in a game start, or just a NPC that can spawn in the world.
