My actual score was about 10 points lower than my last NBME. Surgery is a bitch. yeah i took all the NBME surgery self assessments. In my distant memory, I think NBME practice tests underestimated by actual shelf score by 10-20%. I got 85ish on surgery shelf. I took form 4, made a 23 or ~80.

The whole scoring system on NBMEs does not make sense. A 60% is also 80% chance of passing. Which makes me think its actually more than 186. From my understanding a 50% chance of passing should be a 196. I think they purposely lower scores on practice tests so people feel like they need to get higher scores to pass.
