Shilen barrel review.
Shilen makes great quality barrels, but not because the rifling style. The performance comes from good quality blanks with sharp tooling, good quality control, so on, so on. The ratchet rifling is marketing. Maybe it makes a difference, but it's not enough of a difference for a mere mortal like myself to notice. Straight Shooter.

(I have or have tried most of them)I had Pac Nors on my 6.5x284s and on a 260. I used the 3 grove for the 6.5s and they were all good shooters. Their customer service is top notch.

Less than half inch groups easy at 50 yds, using good SV ammo. At my age & eyes,I don't shoot as well as I use to. I think a younger fellow would have the ragged hole thing going on!Re: Shilen Match VS Select Match barrels. One is straighter that the other and cleans up easier but they both seem to shoot well. My select match cleans up without a trace of copper while the other tends to have a small amout of copper in it. You will have to be a benchrest shooter to notice the difference in accuracy!Just got done with this build a couple of weeks ago.
