Both are pretty fast, have good AA for the tier, good hydro, Furu has great long range torps, while Kirov has great Yolo power against bbs, as it can citadel t3-5 bbs at point blank (if the citadel is exposed ofc).Had good results with Schlieffen and Pommern (search for a defensive spot and let the secondaries work their magic). Decent ones with Marceau and Sherman (you need a spotter while smoked). And mixed ones with Jinan (you get deleted if you ever get spotted) and Napoli (you don't have the DPM to hold a flank against multiple BBs alone).
For tech tree ships, the ones I feel best/enjoy the most are as follows: T3: Ishizushi. T4: Konigsberg. T5: Fuso. T6: King George V. T7: Richelieu.
