They just reset and the game says "you have too many attributes and they have been reset" after a few mins of running around with them unlocked. Really weird stuff.

If you are clever you can respec to farm build in the evening before logging off. If you are getting raided on the next day you can respec into fighting mode. But you need to think before you respec. That's the point. Also if you know that the raid time is coming, be prepared. Respec into combat if you play on PvP.
