Sure, the Remington 870 feels better and isn't as loose and noisy as the Mossberg 500 when cycling it, but if I was in the market for a pump shotgun it would be a Maverick 88 or Mossberg 500/590. I can't speak intelligently on the Benelli Nova except that I have not seen one come in for repair in the 5 years that I have been doing repair work.

The 500 is a good solid gun, not expensive to buy or own. Easy to get parts for and a lot of add ons, accessories, modifications, upgrades, etc etc available. Also I think easy to clean and maintain. Haven't used a Nova but from reading the posts - people either love them or hate them, not much inbetween.

I love my Benelli NOVA. I have a Mossberg 835. Great gun. But its not a Winchester1300 for sure. I have a Winchester 120 and 1300. They are not turkey guns though. Love the way they feel and function. The only thing nice about my 835 is the camo and the 3 1/2 turkey loads. I would never get rid of the Winchester.
