Mar 2, 2024 · I would have ranked this optic a 5 star optic, but there is a MAJOR design flaw in it. In order to save battery, Swampfox states "In very low light conditions Sentinel-A’s dot will become very difficult or impossible to see." I agree with their assessment, I cannot pickup the dot at all in low light settings.

Oct 30, 2023 · Swampfox sent a second Sentinel II out for me to take a look at and RMA’d the first unit, but side-by-side, the fish-eye effect is identical. While it isn’t a significant problem, it is noticeable and worse at shorter distances. Outside of about 7 yards, it's less noticeable and doesn't get in the way. Once I got over it, shooting was good. The Defender-CCW retails for $349.99 on their website and the Sentinel II is listed at $269 from Swampfox. Vortex doesn’t give a waterproof/resistant rating but instead says it resists moisture, dust, and debris in all weather environments.
