Yes, you can use a 4.25" stroker crank for a 351W in a 400. However, you need a specific timing chain set that is made just for this swap. You CANNOT mix and match components to "make your own" set because the 351W crank sprocket has a different tooth count. The problem with using a 400 crank in a 351w is that you have to cut the counter weights down to fit the block. They are a nightmare to balance when this is done because they require heavy metal added.
