I try to stay away from the skills that cause stuff around you to happen like Blight Phoenix because I tend to always kill the last enemy and stuff like that triggers a barrel and kills me with no one near for FFYL. This is my general skillbuild for maya. If you're going for a sub-sequence build, your tree will slightly differ (going more into the motion tree and sacrificing your Scorn+ lifetap+sustenance). First skills must be sweet release in mid tree.
