1897 trench gun heat shield.
I was hoping for info on a Winchester 1897 shotgun I acquired. It appears to be in Trench gun configuration and was curious as to whether it is authentic. Serial number is E 677857. It has a 4 hole heat shield/bayonet adaptor. I did not see any military type markings. Metal is patina, fore end has cracks, as does the stock.
