It has the full-length 6-round magazine, Glenfield-style capped forend, and, being a 1978 model, is a pre-safety rifle.New Glenfield 30A - .30-30. The wood is birch with the stamped whitetail on the grip and oak leaves on the forearm, 90% on wood and metal.The 336MXLR was also a 24" barrel/1/2 mag tube version of the 336; but in stainless steel, and was chambered in 30/30, 35 Rem. 308 and 338 Marlin Express, 444 Marlin, 45/70, and 450 Marlin. The Glenfield 25 is from 1978 and uses the old style of magazine with the release lever built into it. The magazine clips onto a metal piece up inside the mag well. The Marlin 25N is from 1995 and uses the newer style magazine. That gun has the mag release built into the base of the mag well as part of the rifle.
