Jan 6, 2009 · if you a volt meter check the power of the battery,it should be about 12volts. with it not running.but if it is 9.5 v to lower replace the battery. now if its running the voltage should only be about 13-14 volts.any higher then the voltage regulater is prolly faulty and in need of replacemet. oh yeah and get some new bulbs for the lights after ... It's probably the spring loaded gear selector fork under the shifter assy behind the rear head. it's VERY easy for one side of that spring mechanism to fall off when assembling. this way you don't get a full throw when putting it in gear with the hand shifter.
