ArkOS a little bit more setup, but more options to tweak if you want and slightly more performant for higher tier systems. At least that’s how it was explained to me.

Whenever I find a game on MAME not working, I replace that particular game with a ROM from MAME set 0.78. R-Type is one example. I am getting awful performance in mame with my rgb30 using the mame 2003 plus emulator, even basic stuff like galaga / galaxians running very choppy. With ArkOS I recommend Duckstation for PSX so you can change the disk read speed to speed up load times and most games are stable in my experience. With that said I haven’t even thought of psp because of the screen real estate on rgb30.I just got a RGB30 and attempting to install ArkOS on it, but system never moves past the ArkOS boot / logo screen. I have attempted this on a 16 and 32gb Sandisk ultra micro cards with the latest RGB30 ArkOS imageusing Rufus, balenaetcher, and Raspberry pi imager and it never boots pass the logo screen to complete installation.But for arkos, it is extremely easy. All you have to do is make sure that your rgb30 and your pc is on the same internet connection, go to options and then enable remote services (you have to do this everytime you want to remote access, so keep that in mind) and then on your pc, go to any browser, and type rgb30 at your url bar.Let it go to screen saver. Don't hit the power button. While it's charging and the screen dims or it's playing whatever screensaver you chose, don't wake it. Just let it charge. When you're done, unplug it then turn the screen on. It should take a second then display the proper charge level.I had a look in ThemeMaster but it only seemed to update the themes that already came with ArkOS. I alternate between the 2 by swapping the OS sd card. In general I find Jelos more intuitive and easier to navigate. Arkos gives me much more performance for Dreamcast, unparalleled no matter what I do on Jelos. Rgb30 is just a unique case with a higher resolution screen than most non-widescreen handhelds (including the 2S), a slightly larger screen than most of them since many are 3.5in while this one is 4 inch, and the 1:1 aspect ratio ends up being a great all around fit for the majority of older consoles especially handhelds like gameboy/color/ngpc.
If you prefer ArkOS on the RGB30 but hate how ugly it is on the RGB30 in comparison to the ArtBookNext theme used in stock JelOS, then I think I found a solution; I've been messing with the settings of pretty much every theme there is in order to try and find something that looks good on this funky 1:1 screen - and I think I finally cracked it. Change SCOPE to just a forward slash / and save. If you then click MY FILES in the top left, you should have full access to the card (if not, refresh the browser). So to confirm, the BEZELS folder goes in. ROMS or ROMS2, just place the complete folder named BEZELS in there with the files inside. and the CONFIG files I made go in.Make sure they’re in the storage/roms/bios folder. RGB30 Analog stick issue when "emulating" D-Pad and 45 degree angles. Using JelOS updated to 20231116 build. I noticed that most systems will allow the left analog stick to function like the D-Pad. However, there are issues with 45 degree angles and most systems only work pefect as a 4-way stick.
But the menu and themes navigation is more useful with quick options compared to ArkOS. Even if the network file transfer (SFTP) is slow, it's always ready for connection in Jelos while on ArkOS it has to be enabled every so often.
