We stayed 5 nights on the West side at Village Inn at Apgar and 5 nights on the East side at The Cottages at Glacier. The camp store at Canyon in YNP which opened in late may had coffee and is also run by Xanterra. So I am assuming the same will be for Rising Sun. They also had snacks, beverages and cold sandwiches. The Xanterra pay shuttle picks up at both the Many Glacier Hotel and Swiftcurrent Motor Inn and will take you to the St. Mary Visitor Center (VC). The shuttle is $14.00 per person. For example: on June 24th at 8 am MT, an additional 1,327 tickets will be released for June 25th. Those tickets would be good for 3 days.
Grinnell Glacier is probably the easiest to reach (trail is moderate, not easy), and one of the best hikes in the park.
