The Benelli's have each had far more problems in the field than my Beretta has. That said, my Beretta is not an A400 (it's an Xtrema2) and the problematic Benelli's are all SBE"s. I don't think that anyone will argue the point that the A400 w/ Kick-Off will be noticeably softer-shooting than the SV.

Tough choice. I have many Beretta's, No Benelli's. So I'm sure you can figure out my answer. Have the original A300 Outlander. It is my Dove hunting gun for the past 6-7yrs. It has many many rounds through it never a single issue. The new A300 your looking at has the same bolt design as the original. For the clay games I switched to O/U years ago.

The SBE is an excellent gun. It WILL have a more noticable recoil than the Beretta though. I personally dont shoot a lot of 3.5 shells, but do like to have that option available.
