The futures commissions on tda are nasty indeed. ~$5 per contract round trip. Terrible. But I like the interface and I think using ActiveTrader is easier and more intuitive than most other platforms I’ve tried. I’m currently trading MES on IB’s TWS platform and only paying about a buck per contract round trip.

Tradovate has undoubtedly given more established platforms like NinjaTrader a run for their money despite being a relatively new player in futures brokers. Going through numerous forums on social media networks told us how users view NinjaTrader as slightly antiquated, like a Windows 98-type program.

It also seems there are less people using EdgeProX because it hardly shows up when I do a search on this futures trading thread. A more common setup seems to be Edge Clear with Sierra Charts with lots of user comments about the steep learning curve to set up Sierra Charts. Found the person who loves paying commissions.
